Qui écouter ?

(Jésus dit :) Mes brebis écoutent ma voix, moi je les connais et elles me suivent ; moi, je leur donne la vie éternelle ; elles ne périront jamais et personne ne les arrachera de ma main. Jean 10. 27, 28

Venez à moi ; écoutez, et votre âme vivra. Ésaïe 55. 3

Tu es fatigué ? Viens à celui qui ne se fatigue jamais. “Il donne de la force à celui qui est lassé” (Ésaïe 40. 29).

Tu es désespéré ? Viens à lui. “Le Dieu d’espérance” te remplira de joie et de paix, si tu crois en lui (Romains 15. 13).

Tu es seul, abandonné ? Viens à lui. Il est “le père des orphelins et le juge des veuves. Dieu fait habiter en famille ceux qui étaient seuls” (Psaume 68. 5, 6).

Tu es dans la nuit ? Viens à lui, car il est la lumière. Il a dit : “Celui qui me suit ne marchera pas dans les ténèbres, mais il aura la lumière de la vie” (Jean 8. 12).

Tu penses à la mort ? Viens à lui, il est la vie éternelle. Il se désigne comme un bon berger qui donne sa vie pour ses brebis, pour qu’elles aient la vie “en abondance” (Jean 10. 10, 11).

Dieu t’aime. Tu es une personne unique et précieuse à ses yeux. Il connaît tout de toi.

Il a donné Jésus Christ, son Fils bien-aimé, pour te purifier et te rendre heureux dans sa présence. C’est pour te purifier de tout péché par son sang que Jésus est mort. Aujourd’hui il est ressuscité, vivant pour toujours. Jésus a la vie en lui-même, il donne gratuitement la vie éternelle à celui qui croit en lui. Celui-ci est alors délivré de la crainte de la mort, il a la vie avec lui pour toujours (Jean 5. 24). Dès maintenant, Jésus veut donner un sens à ta vie. Découvre lequel en lisant l’évangile.

Breaking the Cycle

If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

David’s first beating came at the hands of his father on his seventh birthday, after he accidentally broke a window. “He kicked me and punched me,” David said. “Afterward, he apologized. He was an abusive alcoholic, and it’s a cycle I’m doing my best to end now.” 

But it took a long time for David to get to this point. Most of his teen years and twenties were spent in jail or on probation, and in and out of addiction treatment centers. When it felt like his dreams were entirely dashed, he found hope in a Christ-centered treatment center through a relationship with Jesus. 

“I used to be filled with nothing but despair,” David says. “Now I’m pushing myself in the other direction. When I get up in the morning, the first thing I tell God is that I’m surrendering my will over to Him.” 

When we come to God with lives shattered, whether by others’ wrongdoing or by our own, God takes our broken hearts and makes us new: “If anyone is in Christ, . . . the old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Christ’s love and life breaks into the cycles of our past, giving us a new future (vv. 14–15). And it doesn’t end there! Throughout our lives, we can find hope and strength in what God has done and continues to do in us—each and every moment.
