Ce qui me fait avancer

Je fais une chose : oubliant ce qui est derrière et tendant avec effort vers ce qui est devant, je cours droit au but pour le prix de l'appel céleste de Dieu dans le Christ Jésus. Philippiens 3. 13, 14
 

Une année vient de s'achever. C'est la période des bilans. Maintenant, il faut tirer leçon du passé et avancer. Il y a eu de bonnes choses et des mauvaises, des satisfactions, des déceptions. Allons-nous nous reposer sur nos succès, ou au contraire partir battus, certains que nous sommes condamnés à l'échec ?

Personnellement, j'ai eu des problèmes comme vous, sans doute : soucis, angoisses, échecs ; des rêves et des espoirs, aussi.

Mais ce qui me fait avancer, c'est la certitude que ma vie est entre les mains d'un grand Dieu :

Un Dieu bon qui a prouvé son amour en donnant Jésus Christ, mort sur la croix pour ôter mes péchés,

Un Dieu vrai qui fait ce qu'il dit,

Un Dieu fiable qui a promis de m'aider et sur qui je peux compter.

En regardant en arrière, je peux retenir les enseignements que Dieu m'a donnés dans l'année passée, et je peux compter tous ses bienfaits envers moi.

Si je regarde en avant, Dieu me donne une espérance pour l'avenir, et un chemin pour le présent : vivre pour honorer Christ. Il ne me dit pas tout ce qui va se passer cette année, tout ce qui va m'arriver, mais il m'assure que je le verrai à l'œuvre dans ma vie.

Je suis donc en sécurité, paisible, heureux, confiant.

Mon Dieu veut être aussi votre Dieu.

Compte les bienfaits de Dieu,
Mets-les tous devant tes yeux.
Tu verras, en adorant,
Combien le nombre en est grand.

Creation’s Song

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Psalm 19:1

Using acoustic astronomy, scientists can observe and listen to the sounds and pulses of space. They’ve found that stars don’t orbit in silence in the mysterious night sky, but rather generate music. Like humpback whale sounds, the resonance of stars exists at wavelengths or frequencies that may not be heard by the human ear. Yet, the music of stars and whales and other creatures combine to create a symphony that proclaims the greatness of God.

Psalm 19:1–4 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”

In the New Testament, the apostle Paul reveals that in Jesus “all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible . . . all things have been created through him and for him” (Colossians 1:16). In response, the natural world’s heights and depths sing to its Maker. May we join creation and sing out the greatness of the One who “with the breadth of his hand marked off the [vast] heavens” (Isaiah 40:12).

How great You are, O God! Open my eyes to see You in creation’s majesty and open my heart to offer the praise You deserve.
